Microsoft has already in the market its second
generation of Surface, which is helping it better than the first generation,
even it continues without having a concrete way....why not to replace Surface
towards education?
The people who dedicate to the marketing must
think about covering the necessities of the people, and I think Microsoft is an unique opportunity which
Surface might give it in the sector of the education.
What´s wrong? How to correct it?
From my point of view, one of the great errors
at the work time the marketing of the Surface brand, has been the non-defining
or finding the people whom is managed, being this one of the centres to be able
to have all the strategy. Once we know how to define our consumer, we would
know where it would be and replace our characteristics, which empower them and
where make them know.
From here I had my idea, and it would be all a
restructuring of the brand, all a base of analyzing, knowing and correcting the
plan of marketing, so the product have already with a amazing hardware and software.
Now we have to exploit its strengths......but
how?
Very easy, in fact Microsoft created a short
time ago some videos showing and comparing the virtues of Surface before its
rivals more directed like Ipad and Samsung, which all could link with the ambit
of the education.
If students look for something it is the
portability, nobody wants to take a portable computer to class by the weight
and size, so they buy tablets or convertibles which they can take easier, but
not everyone does....
If Surface has something to do with it , they
are unique and own characteristics which convert it in a brilliant product, to
start its keyboard, being the unique with a keyboard which adjust with magnets
in addition to have a extreme thinness.
Another addition is the USB port, through which
can pass files from USB flash drives, or connect any device that has this task,
in addition also has a port to connect microHDMI any screen or use it for other
specific uses.
Nobody worry about capacity, because it has
versions of 32/64 GB which can be expanded via Micro SD cards, along with
Onedrive will offer freedom to keep the whole amount of files you wish.
I also highlight the autonomy, which will give
you one or two working days, so with a normal use you could enjoy from 8 hours,
even this figure could increase or decrease depending on the utility we give.
The strong point of Surface would be the Office
included bringing pack, which together with the keyboard will delight any
student, is just what you need, that joined all the above will make forget
books, notebooks and other tablets.
And why not to highlight the kickstand, or the
real multitask, they are the small details which make big a product.
I would encourage Microsoft to rethink all the
strategy of marketing of Surface, would indicate you that you gamble for
education like central focus, enabling universities, colleges and institutes
them at student prices and coordinators to teach all its virtues.
At last I would also leave the open doors to
other people to focus the strategy, the companies, some of which give Ipads and
other tablets to their employees that then they don´t serve to do everyday
tasks such the management of Outlook, Office...
Rethink yourself what it is you need, don´t let
you be guided by opinions without any basis, so Surface can offer you all you
need and more.
