Nokia presents various model low cost with Android, madness or genius?

Nokia has presented today during its conference various terminals Nokia which use Android as an operating system, does it have sense that the power of Windows Phone take this operating system?

There was already rumors about a Nokia mobile with Android, but it hasn´t been until today when Nokia has presented 3 terminals low cost with a Fork of Android, it means, adapted Android to a redesigned interface by Nokia with exclusive apps of Nokia.

It has presented 3 devices with Android, Nokia X, Nokia X+ and Nokia XL, which cost since 89 until 109 € without IVA. They have basic specifications but without doubt with that great price and the magic of Nokia could arrive at many users. Together these terminals they have presented other two with Nokia Asha, other O.S much less advanced and with many less specifications with prices that would be around 29 and 49 € whose destiny is people who look for autonomy and emergent markets.

How has Nokia been able to, being the great operating system Windows Phone introduce in its terminals android?

About Jo Harlow commented (vice president of Nokia smartphones) “these terminals would be the enter for smartphones of low cost and a transition of low cost to Windows Phone”.

It is a Fork of Android that introduce many aspects at the same time that share a similar style than Windows Phone, which could be positive for those who don´t want to spend much money on acquiring a SmartPhone, and learn to solve with the system at the same time that use services of Microsoft, at the waiting time when they want to give a jump towards a better smartphone, acquire one of the Lumia range or that have Windows Phone.

I would have preferred to follow the trail of the Lumia 520, definitely the best smartphone in price/quality ratio, taking good specifications and smoothly running Windows Phone 8.

Successful decision?

I don´t know what to think, I can not digest the news, but on the one hand I see the positive way of looking at things as said Jo Harlow, I see many negative things, such as instability and frequent system failures.

The truth that I don´t see much feeling to this decision, I feel strange analyzing it, I know these prices in emergent markets can help to improve sells, but if there´s something it can lose is your identity, your personal mark, you can not give up quality by quantity, thing which was won with Windows Phone, that quality and sturdiness that transmits this operating system can not contrast with Android.

I hope this strategy is good at with Nokia and when it finishes its process of acquisition by Microsoft forgets the idea of introducing android in its terminals, and more now that it has announced which will have more support of new manufacturers like LG and Lenovo.
