Office for Ipad: is the strategy to continue?

Recently there is a rumor that office could arrive to Ipad before we hope, speaking some media that in that case before the summer, now we will analyze that strategy, which can be a double-edged weapon.

First we must highlight that we have a risky strategy, with various points such positive as negative points, although we have to be conscious about Microsoft sells Software, and one of the strong plates is that is the owner of Office, the best office suite in the world.

Why is a risky strategy?

First I will try to highlight the points which I consider positive before such movement, and the main thing which came to my mind is the astuteness to carry that suite to one of the biggest platforms that exists, with millions of Ipad in the world, which will increase the benefits in a tremendous way.

Also we must highlight that it would be about Office 365, which will access through subscription, which is very positive, so estimating to be sold shortly and downward, to € 100 each unit, we have a million dollar accounts for the Redmond.

Now we would highlight the negative points I see, starting with losing one of the strong points which differed with its tablets with Windows, although I continue offering the free Home&Student 2013 version for the new tablets with Windows 8 and 8.1, what in cost terms go out more economic buying a Surface than having to pay various quota of Office 365 for Ipad.

Given the lack of keyboard by nature of the Ipad maybe that not everyone wants to purchase these Office Tools, because it considered that it would not have a proper use o a complete experience, and this would affect sales.

So we have a double-edged weapon, on the one hand an office suite that could enlarge the accounts of Microsoft selling millions of subscriptions of Office 365, and on the other hand remove their greater competitive advantage of new models of tablets with Windows, especially Surface, although this has different characteristics both in software as in hardware.

Thus, we will be attentive about if this rumor becomes in real and what this movement will mean for the company, and you do you prefer Microsoft continue to keep its as or that bet by a enormous increase of benefits?
